Goat Cheese, Onion Marmalade And Mushroom Cups

This recipe for goat cheese, onion marmalade and mushroom cups is super easy to make and packed with creamy, salty and sweet flavours. Perfect for the cocktail party, as a light starter and the New Year's eve party. This recipe only uses a handful of ingredients and is super quick to make.

You can make homemade caramelised onion marmalade or buy store-bought onion marmalade. Enjoy your mushrooms starter with a cocktail, a glass of red wine or champagne at your next party. Check out our recipe for homemade caramelized onion marmalade here.


You need:

  • 20 small brown button mushrooms or Portobello mushrooms

  • A teaspoon of olive oil

  • 8-10 teasoppns of cramalised onion marmelade

  • 80 grams of goat cheese

  • 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme

  • A pinch of freshly ground white pepper

  • A pinch of salt


How you make them:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius

  2. Cut off the mushroom storks, and clean and dry the mushrooms on kitchen paper.

  3. Add olive oil to an oven tray and place the mushrooms in the tray. Make sure to leave some space between the mushrooms.

  4. Top the mushrooms with a pinch of salt and white pepper before placing them in the oven.

  5. Bake the mushrooms in the middle of the oven at 200 degrees Celsius until the mushrooms have released their moisture and are soft.

  6. Pour out any excess moisture from the mushrooms and add crumbled goat cheese to all the mushrooms.

  7. Bake for another couple of minutes in the oven until the chees has melted.

  8. Remove the mushrooms from the oven and add them to a plate.

  9. Top the mushrooms with plenty of caramelised onion marmalade and sprigs of thyme.

Serve directly piping hot as they are with a cocktail, a glass of wine or champagne.
